The Basic Sea Kayaker
This course covers all the basic information and techniques for going out without a guide on protected waters in calm seas. You'll get:
- Basic paddling strokes and practice
- Rescues-how to get yourself and others out of the water
- Tide Basics-what to consider and how it affects you
- Weather Basics-what to consider and when to get off the water
- Touring considerations-day trips and expeditions
We typically meet in Maple Bay, Crofton, or Cedar and paddle in the middle Gulf Islands area. This is a great beginner course, but can move up in level, depending on your needs.
